Musing Mondays #5

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB over at Should Be Reading. Each Monday, she asks a book-related question and we blog our answers, then link back to her original post.

Do you ever get crushes on fictional characters? Name one (or a few), and tell what you liked…

My Answer:
haha oh my.. Well I would have to say yes but they don’t come from my YA books. Most of my crushes come from my “Romantic Suspense” books; only because in most romantic suspense books the main character males are all described as sexy muscular men. Who doesn’t love that?!

I will have to say I might be a little bit of a freak and kind of have a crush on Christian from 50 shades…. I KNOW I KNOW! I don’t know why… Probably has something to do with being so rich.

What’s your answer?! Let me know below!

Oh and little piece of extra info... This is my 100th Post!!

Do you have a system as to which books to read from your “requested review pile? What is it? What about when there are too many to read in a certain time frame? {apologies to those who don’t review}

I actually haven’t had any requested reviews so I just reviews whatever ones I have reading during the month. I would have to say if I did have some requested ones it would probably be the most requested books first then books that are becoming popular. Short books are really easy to read so those would probably be high on the list too.

Do you have a favorite series? Do you have a favorite book out of that series?

My Answer:

As of right now I would say that I have two favorite series. I am not including ones that I have only read the first book, although I have a feeling by the end of next year I will be adding another series. Out of those books though I loved Cinder Series by Marissa Meyer,  Fairyland Series by Catherynne M. Valente, Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi.

From the series that I have read through as far as they have gone:

The New Orleans Series by Lisa Jackson – I don’t have a favorite from this I just like the series as a whole.

The Chemical Garden Series by Lauren DeStefano – I would say Wither is my favorite but the series isn’t finished yet so we will see!

This week’s musing asks…

What distracts you when you really “should be reading”? ;)

My Answer:

Oh my... Well this could go on and on..
My 2 dogs (one being a 10 week old)
My cat

My husband
My 5 year old
My 3 year old
Me procrastinating which usually consits of YouTube

That's about it.. I usually don't read on the weekends because the family and I are busy running around, cleaning, or going to sporting events for my 5 year old.

Do you have any hobbies outside of reading?
Or do you collect anything?

My Answer:

My outside of reading would be blogging. That is pretty much my only other real hobby. I like to shop and go on walks, things like that but nothing else that I do really regularly.

I guess you could say I collect makeup. I went through a period of time where I was pretty much obsessed with it but reading has taken over that. I do love clothes, shoes and purses but I would say that maybe purses would be the only thing that comes close to being called a “collection.”

Musing Mondays #1

**I have decided to start participating in this meme on Mondays along with my Mini Monday. It’s hard to have a child related book blog every week and of course I don’t buy children’s books every week. So I will have this as my backup plan for Mondays!**

What is your least favorite book? Why?

My Answer:
I am taking this question to mean which book I don’t like at all, not necessarily mean I have a list of top ten and this is my tenth book.

I have a couple books on my Goodreads that I have not finished but I am not taking those into account because I don’t think that’s quiet fair. It could have had a great ending but I will never know. So I am taking my lowest rated books that I have finished.

I think it would be a tie between two romantic suspense books, Hush by Kate White and Deep Freeze by Lisa Jackson. Both of these books received two stars ratings from me on Goodreads. I pretty much had to force myself to finish them. It has been a while since I read these books and it was before I started actually reviewing books so I have to think pretty hard as to what specifically I didn’t like.

By the end of Hush I found that I really didn’t care anymore about who did what and why. I felt that the book was dragging on and I would question why the main character was doing certain things. It was really hard to not put down this book.

Deep Freeze was a lot of the same thing. I forced myself to finish it and it took at least a week if not more. I like Lisa Jackson and I own a lot of her books but this one was not a winner on my list. I own the next book in the series but I think I am going to go ahead and sell them. I have no desire to read the next one because I know that it is going to be the exact same thing.
