Bout of Books Read-a-thon 9.0!

Bout of Books Read-a-thon 9.0!

It’s that time again!! I will definitely be participating this go of Bout of Books. I have a bunch of books on my TBR for January and this will help out a ton! If you don’t know what the Bout of Books read-a-thon is…

Here you go:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week-long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

If you want to sign up for this read-a-thon then click HERE!

My Goals:

I plan on reading 5 books. I usually don’t read on the weekends because my house is a madhouse with kids, dogs, husbands, and whatnot. I will be able to read everyday when I’m at work though. So Hopefully I can get one book a day read Mon - Fri. If I get more than that then that’s just awesome.

Books I plan to read:

This of course could change at any time but here is a rough list of what I might be reading.

No One Else Can Have YouThe Madman's Daughter (The Madman's Daughter, #1)Her Dark Curiosity (The Madman's Daughter, #2)

Psycho Inside MeUninvited (Uninvited, #1)

Four of those books go towards my Review challenge, One goes towards my TBR challenge and The Madman’s Daughter books will go towards my series challenge! Check out my 2014 Challenges HERE.

2013 A-Z Challenge (that I forgot to post)

So I was backing up my files the other day and found this and realized that I needed to update what I have read. Well I couldn't find it so apparently I never actually posted it. Oopsie! So here it is now!

 Technical Stuff

This challenge will run from January 1st, 2013 until December 31st, 2013.

You can join anytime.

If you are blogger, leave the link over at the original post (HERE) to your actual post about this challenge.

If you are not a blogger, leave a link to where you will be keeping track of this challenge.

So there are two different ways you can set up your own A-Z challenge.

A - Make a list now of 26 books, picking one for each letter of the alphabet. For example: A - Atonement B- Black Beauty C - The Count of Monte Cristo D - Dances with Dragons etc.

OR

B - The lazy way (how I do it): Make a list on your blog from A-Z. Throughout the year, as you go along, add the books you are reading to the list. Hope that by the end of the year you have read one book for each letter. Towards the end of the year, you can check and see which letters you are missing and find books to fit.

Since it is really hard to find titles beginning with X, the letter X just needs to be in the title somewhere.

2013 Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge

2013 Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge hosted by The Book Vixen

This is hosted by The Book Vixen! What’s your reading goal for 2013? If it’s to read more books, then this is the reading challenge for you!

My goal is to read 100 books which (as of right now) is 20 more books than this year. So I will be going the level “I’m on Fire!”

Reading Challenge Details:

·      Runs January 1, 2013 – December 31, 2013 (books read prior to 1/1/2013 do not count towards the challenge). You can join at anytime.Sign up on The Book Vixen’s blog.

·     The goal is to outdo yourself by reading more books in 2013 than you did in 2012. See the different levels below and pick the one that works best for you. You can move up a level as often as you’d like but no moving down.

·     Books can be any format (bound, ebook, audio).

·      Novellas that are at least 100 pages in length, as well as full-length novels, will count for this reading challenge.

·     Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.

·    Grab the reading challenge button and post this reading challenge on your blog to track your progress. Please include a link back to this sign-up post so others can join the reading challenge too. You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads or LibraryThing.

Getting my heart rate up – Read 1–5 more books
Out of breath – Read 6–10 more books
Breaking a sweat – Read 11–15 more books

2013 Dystopia Reading Challenge

The 2013 Dystopia Reading Challenge is hosted by Blog of Erised. Go check it out!

Love Dystopian books? Then this is just the right thing for you! If you're as big of a fan as I am of post-apocalyptic dystopia books (and even if your are not) you are welcome to join the challenge!

I (like Blog of Erised) will try to read 24 Dystopian books in 2013 as the challenge goal, which means 2 per month.

At the end of the year there will also be a giveaway with great prizes!

Rules

  • ·         The challenge will run from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013. Each month will have its own link form so you will be able to share your book reviews. You do not have to review the books you read to participate, but only those who read/reviewed at least one dystopian book will be able to participate in the giveaway (you can track your reading without the reviews with Goodreads, Shelfari etc.).
  • ·         Books that count in this challenge must include any form of post-apocalyptic theme (book sites like Goodreads are good sources of genre information). The books must be full-length.
  • ·         All formats allowed.
  • ·         Rereads allowed.
  • ·         It does not matter whether it's a series or a stand-alone book.
  • ·         If you are participating, grab the challenge button from below and post it on you blog. You can also make a post with the header. Please include the link back to this post so others will be able to participate as well.
  • ·         If you will participate, put the sign-up link to your blog post (about the challenge) or blog (for the button) directly into the linky below. Sign-ups will be open until December 20, 2013.
  • ·         You do not have to list your books in advance, go and do as you please. Read as many as you want (you can read more than 24!) and whenever you want, as long as you have fun!
  • Info about the giveaway will be available in December 2013.

Levels
Level 1Recruit (1 to 6 books)
Level 2Rebel (7 to 12 books)
