Top Ten Books I'd Give To Readers Who Have Never Read Graphic Novels

Created by The Broke and the Bookish

If you haven’t read any graphic novels, or you have decided you aren’t a fan of them, try one of these! I read a pretty big variety of graphic novels so I tried to include a little bit of everything this list.

10. Chopsticks by Jessica Anthony & Rodrigo Corral
Chopsticks

9. Cinema Panopticum by Thomas Ott
Cinema Panopticum

Both #10 & 9 are only pictures! No words involved!

8. The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman
The Walking Dead, Vol. 01: Days Gone Bye

7. Saga by Brian K. Vaughan
Saga, Volume 1

#8 & 7 are more for people who don’t mind the graphic/gory details. Both of these are great though!

6. Maus by Art Spiegelman
The Complete Maus (Maus, #1-2)

5. Persepolis by Marjane Setrapi
The Complete Persepolis (Persepolis, #1-4)

#6 & 5 are both memoir type books. They would appeal to people who like non-fiction books.

4. Astronaut Academy by Dave Roman
 Astronaut Academy: Zero Gravity

This is a middle grade graphic novel series but still a fun read!

3. Friends with Boys by Faith Erin Hicks
Friends with Boys

This book is about just a regular kid and anyone could go through what she is going through. This would fit for someone who likes more realistic things.

2. Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol
Anya's Ghost

I just really enjoyed that one.

1. Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O’Malley
Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life (Scott Pilgrim, #1)

This is by far my favorite graphic novel/manga. I fully recommend the full color editions though because they make a big difference with the reading experience.

Do we share any of the same authors?!?
