Review: Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett

Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett
Paperback, 272 pages
Expected publication: August 28th 2012 by Harlequin Teen
Goodreads|Amazon

Rose Zarelli, self-proclaimed word geek and angry girl, has some confessions to make1. I'm livid all the time. Why? My dad died. My mom barely talks. My brother abandoned us. I think I'm allowed to be irate, don't you?

2. I make people
furious regularly. Want an example? I kissed Jamie Forta, a badass guy who might be dating a cheerleader. She is now enraged
and out for blood. Mine.

3. High school might as well be Mars. My best friend has been replaced by an alien, and I
see red
all the time. (Mars is red and "seeing red" means being angry—get it?)

Here are some other vocab words that describe my life:
Inadequate. Insufferable. Intolerable.

(Don't know what they mean? Look them up yourself.)

(Sorry. That was rude.)

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read; I finished it one day. It actually had me hooked in some places.

I loved the attitude she had doing pretty much the whole book. I have definitely been in one of those moods before so I can really imagine the way she is saying things. I don’t blame her for being mad either; the summary explains that part pretty well. I also liked the words she defines at the end of every chapter. It seemed to fit in with the book very well.

She’s pretty much a royal b!tch to Robert; which I find funny. I mean you would think the guy would learn after three years.

Jamie says the infamous “I’m no good for you/you should stay away from me” line. I hate that line. I don’t think anybody actually says it except for in books and movies.

Jamie’s girlfriend is a royal B all the time. I can’t believe there are people in real life that actually act like that! Needless to say I don’t like her. I also don’t like Rose’s “BFF” Tracy. I just can’t believe some of the stuff she says to Rose who is supposed to be her “friend.”

I definitely want to read the next one to find out what happens with between Rose, Jamie, and Robert. The ending had me groaning because I really wanted to find out what happened.

The second book is expected to come out in May of 2013. I don’t want to wait that long! lol

I think I’m going to have to pick up a physical copy at some point.

  3. Wow such a complimentary review! I've read a pretty mixed bunch so I'm not really sure what to think. I much prefer the cover you've shown to the one they're using now, it's much simpler, but just... better? Gotta read this book before the sequel comes out! Great review :)

    1. I agree! I like this cover much better. The weird red and orange on the new cover is distracting or something. I think it draws away from the simplicity of the cover.
