This is the first YA book that I read when getting into the genre. This is the book that started it all. I am a little ashamed to say that I totally judged this book by its cover and that is the only reason I picked it up. Who wouldn't pick up this book based solely on its cover?!

I absolutely loved the pictures through-out this book. They were all very interesting to look at. The kids on the back with the ribbon were pretty creepy though. I really loved that fact that he would be explaining a child and then you would turn the page and there was his/her picture.

The story had me hooked from the first page and it only took me four days to read. At that time I had never read a book that fast. I loved the book so much I even talked my husband into reading it. At that time the only thing he had read in the last I-don't-know-how-many years was Harry Potter!

There was a little bit of a twist that I did not see coming and I'm kind of glad it didn't say anything in the synopsis because it may have deterred me from reading it and I would've missed out on a great book. I'm not going to mention the twist because it is a spoiler. My husband didn't like the book quite as much as I did but he still gave it a four star rating on Goodreads.

I may have done a little happy dance when I found out the other was in the process of writing a second book for Miss Peregrine. Goodreads says the expected publication is 2013. I definitely recommend picking this book up if you haven’t yet.  Not to mention you got to love the author’s name.
