Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. And that's the least of his troubles. Lately, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. And worse, he's angered a few of them. Zeus' master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect.

Now Percy and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus' stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

I think I am one of the very few people that haven’t read this. I have seen a lot of people on YouTube reading this series lately, especially with all of the read-a-thons going on. The rating on Goodreads is over 4 stars which has to say something. I haven’t even seen the movie!

Have you read this book yet? What are your thoughts on it?

  1. Snap! I haven't read this and I haven't seen the movie either! Everytime I go to buy it I think hmm will I really enjoy it? And then I never do buy it. I know I should because everyone raves about it so much! Maybe we should both take the plunge and buy it asap! :)

  3. I've read this one, but not the rest of the series. It struck me as better for kids than for adults readers who like kids' books (if that makes any sense at all). Good book, but I didn't feel any need to continue with the story -- although I guess I would if my son wanted to read them too. I'll be interested to hear what you think once you read it!
